David Brynmor Williams

David Brynmor Williams was born in Cardigan on 29 October 1951 and educated at the local grammar school and Cardiff College of Education. He played at scrum-half for several clubs,including Cardiff, Swansea and Newport. There was similar variety in his professional career, employed at various times as a teacher, building society manager, insurance agent and television broadcaster. In 1977 Brynmor Williams toured with the British Isles to New Zealand before he had played for Wales. He made 12 appearances, including three tests, and scored three tries. The following year he gained the first of his three caps for Wales. In 1976 he toured Canada with the Barbarians, scoring a hat-trick of tries against the Atlantic Provinces, and in 1981 was a member of the Barbarian squad that won the Hong Kong Sevens at the first attempt.In 1982 he played rugby league for Cardiff Dragons and gained one cap for Wales.
