Michael Philip Weston

Michael Philip Weston was born in Durham on 21 August 1938, educated at Durham School and played for Durham City and Richmond. He gained 29 caps (24 at centre and five at fly-half) for England between 1960 and 1968. He was also captain in three internationals in 1963, including the tour to New Zealand, and his final two internationals five years later. He also toured with the British Isles to South Africa in 1962 and Australasia and Canada in 1966, scoring a total of 64 points in 31 games, including six tests. He later became an RFU selector. A mainstay of the Barbarians, Mike Weston's 14 games included the match against Canada at Gosforth in 1962 and the captaincy against Cardiff in 1964 and Bradford in 1965. Later in 1965 he joined the committee, eventually serving as the Club's treasurer until he retired in 2003 and in 2012 was appointed a vice-president.
