Bryan Ronald West

Bryan Ronald West was born in Northampton on 7 June 1948 and educated at Northampton Grammar School and Loughborough College. He played at flanker for Northampton and the East Midlands. In 1969 he represented Midland Counties East against South Africa. Between 1968 and 1970 he gained eight caps for England. Originally selected for the 1968 British Isles' tour of South Africa, he was forced to withdraw because of a leg injury but was later flown out as a replacement for another injured player and made two appearances. Bryan West was a PE teacher and eventually joined Wakefield Trinity rugby league club.
