Richard Edward Webster
Richard Edward Webster was born in Swansea on 9 July 1967 and educated at Cefn Hengoed Comprehensive School. He worked as a sales representative. He gained the first of his 13 caps at flank forward for Wales when called up as a replacement to the Rugby World Cup in 1987 but his career was interrupted by injuries. In 1993 he toured New Zealand with the British Isles and played in seven matches. He made 97 appearances for Swansea, including the defeat of Australia in 1992, before transferring to rugby league in 1993 where he played for Salford Reds and Wales. On his return to rugby union he joined Bath and played in the team that won the European Cup in 1998. He later was player/coach for Bridgend, became forwards' coach for Cardiff Blues and then head coach of Swansea and, in 2010/11, Neath. Richard Webster played for Wales against the Barbarians in 1990.
