Andrew James Ward

Andrew James Ward was born in New Zealand on 8 September 1970 and educated at Melville High School. He played in the back row for Ohaupo and Waikato 'A' he moved to Ireland in 1994 and eventually captained the Ballinahinch club in Ulster. He gained the first of 28 caps for Ireland against France in 1998. Later that season he was in the Ulster side that won the European Cup. Andy Ward was a replacement for the Barbarians against South Africa in 2000.
