Daniel Joseph Vickerman

Daniel Joseph Vickerman was born in Cape Town on 4 June 1979 and educated at Diocesan College in the city. He then moved to Australia and studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He played at lock in club rugby for Sydney University and at state level for the Brumbies and Waratahs. His 56 tests for Australia between 2002 and 2011 included the Rugby World Cups of 2003 and 2007. In 2008 he began a course at Cambridge University and gained Blues in 2008 and 2009 and the captaincy in the 2009 Varsity Match. He also played for Northampton Saints before returning to Australia.
