Casparus Cornelius Van Zyl

Casparus Cornelius van Zyl was born in Nelspruit on 27 January 1979 and educated at Ficksburg High School. He played at lock and for three seasons between 2002 and 2004 made 34 appearances for Mpumalanga Pumas in the Currie Cup competition. He then joined the Cheetahs and in the next three seasons played 48 matches, including Super Rugby. Having played briefly with Rotherham Titans in 2003/04 he returned to Europe with Treviso and eventually qualified for Italy. In 2011 he played in the Rugby World Cup and by the end of 2012 had gained eight caps.
