Gregor Peter John Townsend

Gregor Peter John Townsend was born in Edinburgh on 26 April 1973 and educated at Galashiels Academy and the University of Edinburgh. He played at fly-half for Gala, Montpellier, Castres, Brive, Natal Sharks and the Borders. Gregor Townsend scored 164 points in 82 internationals for Scotland between 1993 and 2003 and was captain in two matches in 1996. In 1997 he toured South Africa with the British Isles and played in six matches, including two tests. He later became Scotland's attack coach.
