Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor was born in Blaenavon on 27 February 1973 and educated as Abersychan Comprehensive School and Southampton University. He worked as an accountant and played at centre for Pontypool, Swansea, Scarlets, Sale and the Ospreys. Between 1994 and 2005 he scored 12 tries in 52 tests for Wales. He also captained Wales against the USA and Canada on the 2005 summer tour and played in the Rugby World Cup tournaments of 1999 and 2003. In 2001 he toured Australia with the British Isles and scored two tries in his five appearances. He played in three matches for Wales against the Barbarians and scored tries in two of them - 2002 and 2003. He later became manager of Wales under-20.
