Patrick William Sykes
Patrick William Sykes was born in Vancouver on 3 March 1925 and educated at St John's, Leatherhead, and Cambridge University where he gained war-time Blues in 1943 and 1944. He worked as a salesman. He played at scrum-half for Ipswich, Wasps and the Eastern Counties. Pat Sykes also played for London Counties at Twickenham against three consecutive international teams: Australia (1947), South Africa (1951) and New Zealand (1953). He gained seven caps for England between 1948 and 1953.
