David Michael Barclay Sole

David Michael Barclay Sole was born in Aylesbury on 8 May 1962 and educated at Blairmore and Glenalmond schools and Exeter University. He played club rugby for Edinburgh Academicals and Bath. Between 1986 and 1992 David Sole gained 44 caps at prop for Scotland and was captain in 25 internationals. In 1989 he played eight games for the British Isles in Australia, including the three tests. Later that year he captained the Barbarians against New Zealand at Twickenham. He also captained the Barbarians against Cardiff in 1991 and East Midlands in 1992.
