Robert Wilson Shaw
Robert Wilson Shaw was born in Glasgow on 11 April 1913. Originally capped by Scotland as a wing in 1934 he went on to be one of the most celebrated fly-halves of his generation. He won 19 caps and toured Argentina with the British team in 1936. The first of his 11 games for the Barbarians was on the Easter tour of 1934, scoring two tries and a conversion in the 14-9 victory over Cardiff. He captained Scotland nine times and became president of the Scottish Rugby Union in 1970-71. Wilson Shaw died on 23 July 1979.
