John Adrian Tremayne Rodd

John Adrian Tremayne Rodd was born on 28 June 1935 and educated a Downside School before joining the Royal Navy. He later worked in marketing and, on the 1966 British Isles tour, as a freelance journalist. As well as Services' rugby with the Navy and Combined Services XV, he played for London Scottish where he was part of the legendary team that won five Middlesex Sevens tournaments between 1960 and 1965. He gained 14 caps at scrum-half for Scotland between 1958 and 1965 and played for the Barbarians against Canada at Gosforth in 1962. In 1978 Tremayne Rodd became the third Baron Rennell. He died on 9 December 2006, aged 71.
