Augustus Beverley Walter Risman

Augustus Beverley Walter Risman was born in Salford on 23 November 1937 and educated at Cockermouth Grammar School, Loughborough College and Manchester University. He played in eight internationals for England between 1959 and 1961, the first six at fly-half before two at centre. In 1959 he toured with the British Isles to Australasia and scored 62 points in 14 matches, including four tests. His six tries on tour included one in the victorious fourth test against New Zealand. In 1959 he played at fly-half for England & Wales against Scotland & Ireland at Twickenham and the following year for North-West Counties against South Africa. In 1961 Bev Risman joined Leigh rugby league club and later Leeds from where he captained Great Britain in three of his five rugby league tests.
