Clive Frederick William Rees

Clive Frederick William Rees was born in Singapore on 6 October 1951 and educated at Llanelli Grammar School and Loughborough College, where he qualified as a teacher. He played on the wing for London Welsh and was club captain in 1985/86. Between 1974 and 1983 he played in 13 internationals for Wales and also an uncapped international against the New Zealand Maori in 1982. He also toured with Wales to the Far East in 1975, where he scored two tries against Japan B, and Spain in 1983, again scoring twice against the national side. His other representative appearances included East Wales against Tonga (1974) and Argentina (1976) and Southern Counties against Australia (1975) and Argentina (1978). In 1974 he toured South Africa with the British Isles and scored three tries in six appearances. A notable seven-a-side exponent, Clive Rees was a member of the Barbarian squad in Hong Kong in 1982 and played in three Middlesex Sevens finals for London Welsh, including a tournament victory in 1984.
