William Henry Raybould

William Henry Raybould was born in Cardiff on 6 May 1944 and educated at Cathays High School and Cambridge University where he gained a Blue in 1966. In the same year he played for the University against Australia. He played at centre and fly-half for several clubs, including Cardiff, London Welsh, Newport and Bridgend. He was at fly-half when Newport beat South Africa in 1969. Between 1967 and 1970 he gained 11 caps for Wales - ten at centre and the final appearance as a wing replacement against France. In 1968 he toured South Africa with the British Isles and scored two tries in his seven games. Bill Raybould was a teacher and later became an inspector of schools.
