Nicholas James Popplewell

Nicholas James Popplewell was born in Dublin on 6 April 1964 and educated at Newton Secondary School in Wexford. He worked as a warehouse manager. He played at prop for Greystones and Newcastle Falcons. Between 1989 and 1998 he gained 48 caps for Ireland. In 1993 he toured New Zealand with the British Isles, playing in seven matches, including three tests. Nick Popplewell played for the Barbarians against Australia (twice), New Zealand and in the victory over South Africa in Dublin in 1994.
