Edward Brian Pope

Edward Brian Pope was born in Barnet on 29 June 1911 and educated at Uppingham School and Cambridge University where he won his Blue in 1932. A member of the Blackheath club, he gained three caps at scrum-half for England in 1931. He was an underwriting company director and served in the RAF in World War Two.In the summer of 2011 Brian Pope celebrated his one-hundredth birthday and was also England's oldest living international.
