Ruan Pienaar

Scrum half, capped 88 by South Africa, Born 10.3.84 in Bloemfontein. A former Natal Sharks player, he signed for Ulster in May 2010 and scored 877 points in 141 matches. Adept in both half-back roles, he appeared at full back for the Springboks against Tonga in the 2007 RWC. He won five caps off the bench before appearing at scrum half, with the knack of scoring outstanding solo tries. He is the son of former Springboks full back Gysie Pienaar, who won 13 caps in 1980-81.
