Brian Gerald O’Driscoll

Brian Gerald O'Driscoll was born in Clontarf on 21 January 1979 and educated at Blackrock College and University College Dublin. He played club rugby for Blackrock College and at provincial level for Leinster. He was a member of the side that won the European Cup in 2009 and 2011.Brian O'Driscoll was first capped for Ireland in 1999 and by the end of the 2010/11 season he had set new records for caps (112), matches as captain (75), tries (44) and tries in the Six Nations Championship (25). Brian O'Driscoll scored four tries in six matches (including three tests) on his first British Isles' tour to Australia in 2001. Four years later he was captain when the British Isles toured New Zealand but was controversially injured in the opening moments of the first test; in 2009 he made his third tour to South Africa. Overall for the Lions, he played in 14 matches, including six tests, and scored six tries. In 2000 he played for Ireland against the Barbarians.
