Anthony O’Connor

Anthony O'Connor was born in Neath on 24 April 1934 and educated at Duffryn Grammar School, Bristol University and Oxford University where he gained a Blue in 1958. He played at scrum-half for Aberavon where he was club captain in 1957/58. He also played for the combined Aberavon & Neath XV against Australia (1957), South Africa (1961) and New Zealand (1963). He gained five caps for Wales between 1960 and 1962 and on the British Isles' tour of South Africa in 1962 played in ten matches. Tony O'Connor worked for ICI and the British Steel Corporation.
