Scott Murray

Scott Murray was born in Musselburgh on 15 January 1976 and educated at Morgan Academy and Preston Lodge High School. He played at lock for Edinburgh Academicals, Bedford, Saracens, Edinburgh, Montauban and Castres. His 87 caps between 1997 and 2007 set a new record for a Scotland player. He also captained the side in 2003 and 2004, scored three test tries, and played in the Rugby World Cup tournaments of 1999, 2003 and 2007. In 2001 he played five matches for the British Isles on the tour of Australia. He also played four times for Scotland against the Barbarians, including as captain in 2004.
