Douglas Waugh Morgan

Douglas Waugh Morgan was born in Edinburgh on 9 March 1947 and educated at Melville College. He was a chiropodist and played at scrum-half for Stewart's Melville FP. He captained Glasgow & Edinburgh against New Zealand in 1972 and to victory over Argentina in 1973 and also led Edinburgh against Australia in 1975. In 1973 he gained the first of 21 caps for Scotland, scored 71 points, and led his country in his final four internationals in 1978. He later became coach of Scotland in 1993 and team manager from 2000 to 2003. In 1977 Dougie Morgam toured New Zealand with the British Isles and scored 98 points in 13 matches, including two tests.
