Courtenay Charles Meredith

Courtenay Charles Meredith was born in Pontypridd on 23 September 1926 and educated at Neath Technical College and Cardiff University. He worked in management at the Steel Company of Wales. Having played for Crynant he joined Neath and became one of the legendary prop-forwards of his era. Between 1953 and 1957 he gained 14 caps for Wales and was a member of the team that beat New Zealand in December 1953. He also played for the combined Neath & Aberavon XV against New Zealand in 1953 and Australia in 1957. He captained Neath in 1955/56.
