Stewart Alexander McKinney

Stewart Alexander McKinney was born in Strabane on 20 November 1946 and educated at Dungannon Royal School and Stranmillis College. He qualified as a teacher and played in the back row for Dungannon. At provincial level he represented Ulster against New Zealand on three occasions in 1972, 1974 and as captain in 1978, was a member of the side that beat Argentina in 1973, and also played against Australia in 1975. Between 1972 and 1975 Stewart McKinney played 25 times for Ireland. In 1974 he toured South Africa with the British Isles and played in eight matches.
