Dale Lynsay Manawa McIntosh was born in the King Country, New Zealand, on 23 November 1969. In 1989 he moved to Wales and played in the back-row for Pontypridd, eventually making 454 appearances and captaining and then coaching the club. In 1996/97 he gained two caps for Wales, the second as a replacement.
