Roy James Laidlaw
Roy James Laidlaw was born in Jedburgh on 5 October 1953 and educated at Jedburgh Grammar School before empoyment as an electrician. He played at scrum-half for Jed-Forest and captained Scotland in five of his 47 international matches between 1980 and 1988; he also scored seven tries. In 1983 Roy Laidlaw toured with the British Isles to New Zealand, playing in 13 matches, including all four tests, and leading the Lions on two occasions.
