Sidney Judd

Sidney Judd was born in Cardiff on 14 August 1928 and educated at Cardiff High School and Trinity College, Carmarthen. He was a schoolteacher in his home city and captained the Cardiff club in 1954/55. In November and December 1953 he scored tries for both Cardiff and Wales when they defeated New Zealand. Equally at home at blind-side wing-forward or number 8, he won 10 caps for Wales between 1953 and 1955 and played for the Barbarians against New Zealand in 1954. Sid Judd's career was cruelly cut short by leukemia, from which he died on 24 February 1959, aged 30.
