Kingsley Daniel Jones

Kingsley Daniel Jones was born in Pontypridd on 5 August 1935 and educated at Llantrisant Primary School and Llandovery College. He worked in the fruit retail business. Originally a number 8 and then a lock forward, he eventually became an international prop. He joined Cardiff in 1955 and played at lock for the club in its 14-11 victory over Australia in 1957; he later featured at prop against South Africa in 1960 and New Zealand in 1963. By the time he retired in 1964 he had played in 190 matches for Cardiff, 10 internationals for Wales (1960-1963) and 15 times, including the four tests, for the British Isles in South Africa in 1962. Kingsley Jones died on 26 January 2003, aged 67.
