James John Jeffery
James John Jeffery was born in Oakdale, Monmouthshire, on 26 February 1945 and educated at Pontllanfraith Grammar School and Cardiff Training College. After short spells with Rhymney and Ebbw Vale he played at number 8 for the Newport club and gained his only cap for Wales against New Zealand in 1967. Two years later he toured South Africa with the Barbarians and the following year played for the Club as a flanker against the Springboks at Twickenham.
