David George Humphreys

David George Humphreys was born in Belfast on 10 September 1971. A stalwart fly-half for Ulster, he captained the province in its historic Heineken Cup Final victory in 1999. Between 1996 and 2005 he set new records with 560 points and 72 appearances in the number 10 shirt for Ireland and led his country on five occasions. An Oxford Blue in 1995 when he scored 19 points in the Varsity match, he went on to play six times and score 33 points for the Barbarians and also captained the Club against Scotland in 2005. He joined the Barbarian Football Club committee in 2009. His brother Ian [qv] also played twice for the Barbarians.
