Patrick William Howard

Patrick William Howard was born in Sydney on 14 November 1973. He studied at Queensland University before qualifying as a pharmacist. He played provincial and Super Rugby for Queensland and the Brumbies and in Europe club rugby for Leicester and Montferrand. In 2001 he played for the Brumbies against the British Isles. Between 1993 and 1997 he played in 20 internationals for Australia at fly-half and centre. He later coached Leicester for two seasons from 2005. In 2006 Pat Howard coached the Barbarians on their summer tour to Scotland and Georgia. On returning to Australia he combined his management of a chain of pharmacies with an appointment to the Australian Rugby Union's high performance unit.
