Anthony Lawrence John Horton
Anthony Lawrence John Horton was born in Chiswick on 13 July 1938 and educated at Stonyhurst College before joining the Royal Marines. He later worked in insurance and moved to South Africa where he was a wine merchant. A member of the Blackheath club, he gained seven caps at prop for England between 1965 and 1967. In 1968 he toured South Africa with the British Isles and played in 12 games, including three tests. Tony Horton's 11 games for the Barbarians included the fixture against New Zealand at Twickenham in 1967.
