Shane Patrick Horgan

Shane Patrick Horgan was born in Bellewstown, Co Meath, on 18 July 1978 and educated at St Mary's Diocesan School in Drogheda and Trinity College, Dublin. He played on the wing for Boyne, Lansdowne and Leinster. Between 2000 and 2009 he scored 21 tries in 65 tests for Ireland and played in the Rugby World Cup tournaments of 2003 and 2007. He also played twice for Ireland against the Barbarians, scoring a try in 2000 and two tries in 2008. Shane Horgan toured New Zealand with the British Isles in 2005, played in eight matches including the tests againt Argentina and three against the All Blacks, and scored one try.
