Stanley Arthur Murray Hodgson

Stanley Arthur Murray Hodgson was born in Durham on 14 May 1928 and worked as a maintenance fitter. A long-serving hooker for the Durham City club, he gained 11 caps for England between 1960 and 1964. In 1962 he was selected for the British Isles tour to South Africa but had the misfortune of breaking a leg in the opening match against Rhodesia and his place in the squad was taken by Bert Godwin. Stan Hodgson played for the Barbarians against Canada at Gosforth in 1962.
