Alexander James Watt Hinshelwood

Alexander James Watt Hinshelwood was born on 23 March 1942 and educated at Kirkcaldy High School, Stewart's College and Heriot Watt College, Edinburgh. He played on the wing for Stewart's College FP and London Scottish. In 1963 he played for the Glasgow & Edinburgh XV against New Zealand and between 1966 and 1971 scored five tries in 21 internationals for Scotland. Sandy Hinshelwood twice toured with the British Isles, to Australasia in 1966 and South Africa in 1968. Over the course of the two tours he scored 18 tries in 27 appearances, including three tests. A qualified pharmacist, he later emigrated to Australia.
