Jeff N. Herdman

Jeff Herdman was born in Seven Sisters in 1952 and educated at Neath Grammar School from where he captained Wales Schools in 1968 and Wales Secondary Schools in 1971. At senior level he played at hooker for Swansea from 1971 to 1984, renowned for his mobility as his career tally of 62 tries in 254 matches confirms. He was a member of the Swansea side that won the WRU Cup in 1978 and was a losing finalist two years later. He also played for Swansea against New Zealand in 1980 and Australia in 1981 and for West Wales against the All Blacks in 1978. In 1980 he played for Wales B against France B. Jeff Herdman was a building society manager and from 1985 to 2002 served on the Barbarians' committee.
