Scott Hastings
Scott Hastings was born in Edinburgh on 4 December 1964 and educated at George Watson's College and Newcastle University before working as an advertising executive. He is the younger brother of Gavin [q.v.]. He played at centre for Watsonians and gained 65 caps for Scotland between 1986 and 1997, scoring 10 tries. He twice toured with the British Isles to Australia in 1989 and New Zealand in 1993, making a total of 12 appearances, including two tests, and scoring four tries. His 13 games for the Barbarians included the tours to Italy in 1997 and Germany in 2000 and the fixtures against South Africa in 1994 and New Zealand in 1989 and 1993. He was captain in the latter and also led the Barbarians against Exeter in 1993, Leicester in 1998 and Combined Services in 1999.
