George Musarurwa Gregan
George Musarurwa Gregan was born in Lusaka, Zambia, on 19 April 1973. He was educated in Australia at St Edmund's College and the University of Canberra. He played 136 games for the Brumbies at scrum-half. He was first capped by Australia in 1994 and by the end of his international career in 2007 had established a new world record of 139 tests. He also set a new Australian (and joint world) record of 59 games as captain. He scored 18 test tries. Another record was his half-back partnership of 79 tests with S.J.Larkham [q.v.]. including the 1999 Rugby World Cup final victory over France. He played club rugby for Randwick in Australia, Toulon in France, and Suntory Sungoliath in Japan. In 2001 George Gregan captained Australia against the Barbarians at the Millennium Stadium. He became a Barbarian as a replacement against Australia at Wembley Stadium in 2008.
