Rico Levi Gear

Rico Levi Gear was born in Gisborne on 26 February 1978 and educated at Gisborne Boys High School. He played club rugby for Helensville, at provincial level for Nelson Bay, North Harbour and Auckland, and Super Rugby for the Blues and Crusaders. He later played in England for Worcester Warriors. Between 2004 and 2007 he played on the wing in 19 internationals for New Zealand. His 11 test tries included a hat-trick against Wales in 2005. He also scored two tries for the All Blacks against the Barbarians at Twickenham in 2004. Four years later he was in the centre for the Barbarians against Australia at Wembley Stadium.
