Michael Joseph Galwey
Michael Joseph Galwey was born in Currow on 8 October 1966 and educated at Castleisland School, County Kerry. He was a sales representative and played at lock for Shannon. He represented Munster against New Zealand in 1989 and in the victory over Australia in 1992 and also captained the province. Between 1991 and 2002 he played in 41 internationals for Ireland, two of them in the back row. In 1993 Mick Galwey toured New Zealand with the British Isles, played in seven matches and scored one try. In 2003 he captained the Barbarians against Scotland.
