Michael Richard Martin Evans

Michael Richard Martin Evans was born in the Wirral on 16 September 1932. He was educated at Wrekin College, Telford, and Cambridge University where he read Law and gained a Blue at number 8 in the 1955 Varsity Match. He played at lock for the Wilmslow club and was a member of the Cheshire team that won the County Championship in 1961. He also played for North-West Counties when they beat Australia 6-3 in 1958 and less successfully against South Africa in 1960. In December 1959 he represented the Colours XV in the England International Trial at Banbury. Michael Evans died on 24 July 2007, aged 74.
