Ieuan Cennydd Evans

Ieuan Cennydd Evans was born in Capel Dewi, Carmarthenshire, on 21 March 1964 and educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Carmarthen, and Salford University. He played for the local Carmarthen Quins before a distinguished club career with Llanelli, for whom he scored 193 tries over a span of 13 seasons and was captain in 1996/97. He later joined Bath and was a member of their European Cup winning team in 1998. Playing on the wing for Wales between 1987 and 1998 he set new records for most caps (72), most tries (33) and most matches as captain (28). Ieuan Evans toured with the British Isles to Australia in 1989, New Zealand (1993) and South Africa (1997) playing in a total of 20 matches, including seven tests, and scoring nine tries.
