Gwyn Evans

Gwyn Evans was born in Maesteg on 6 September 1957 and educated at Maesteg Comprehensive School and Swansea University. He played at full-back, wing and centre for Maesteg. Originally capped for Wales as a replacement wing in 1981 he established himself in his more familiar full-back position and by 1983 had scored 74 points in 10 internationals. In the same year he toured with the British Isles to New Zealand and scored 21 points in 11 appearances, including two tests. He was a replacement for the Barbarians in the cancelled fixture against Australia in 1982.
