Peter William Dods

Peter William Dods was born in Galashiels on 6 January 1958 and educated at Galashiels Academy. He played at full-back for Gala and worked as a joiner in the town. He also represented South of Scotland against a succession of international touring teams - New Zealand in 1979 and 1983, Fiji in 1982, Australia in 1984, when he kicked three penalty goals in a famous 9-6 victory, and 1988, Japan in 1986 and Argentina in 1990. He scored 210 points in 23 internationals for Scotland between 1983 and 1991. Peter Dods toured Australia with the British Isles in 1989 an scored 66 points in five appearances.
