Terence John Davies

Terence John Davies was born in Llwynhendy on 24 September 1933 and educated at Stradey School. He was the proprieter of a saw mill and played for the Royal Navy, Devonport Services, Bynea and Swansea before joining Llanelli. He had played at full-back for Swansea against South Africa in 1951 before winning his first cap for Wales in 1953. For Llanelli he appeared against Australia in 1957 and South Africa in 1960. He eventually gained 21 caps and scored 50 points for Wales and was captain in his final three internationals in 1960/61. In 1959 he toured Australasia with the British Isles, scored 104 points in 13 matches, and made two test appearances. He also played for England & Wales against Scotland & Ireland at Twickenham in October 1959.
