Philip Thomas Davies

Philip Thomas Davies was born in Seven Sisters on 19 October 1963 and educated at Llangatwg Comprehensive School. Originally a police officer, he also worked as a sales representative and after his playing days became a coach for several clubs including Leeds Tykes and Llanelli Scarlets where he was director of rugby, Worcester Warriors, Cardiff and Wales under-20. He also coached the Barbarians against Leicester in 2005. Phil Davies played club rugby for Llanelli and was captain for three seasons between 1987 and 1990. He gained the first of his 46 caps for Wales at number 8 against England in 1985 but he also played international rugby as a flanker and lock. His four games for the Barbarians included matches against Italy in Rome, and England and Argentina during the Club's centenary celebrations in 1990.
