Jonathan Davies

Jonathan Davies was born in Trimsaran on 24 October 1962 and educated at Gwendraeth Grammar School.His first senior rugby was with Neath where he was club captain from 1985 to 1987. He then joined Llanelli and was voted man-of-the-match when they won the 1988 Welsh Cup Final. A mercurial fly-half, he gained 37 caps for Wales between 1985 and 1998, interrupted by nearly six years in rugby league from 1989 to late-1995. He had established a new record of 13 drop goals and captained Wales four times in 1987 and 1988 before joining Widnes and later Warrington. He gained further caps at full-back and centre in rugby league - 10 for Great Britain and nine for Wales - before resuming his union career with Cardiff.
