Gordon William D’Arcy
Gordon William D'Arcy was born in Ferns, Co Wexford, on 10 February 1980 and educated at Clongowes Wood College and University College, Dublin. He played at centre for Lansdowne and Leinster. He was first capped by Ireland in 1999, played in four Rugby World Cup tournaments, and by the end of 2012 had scored seven tries in 71 tests for Ireland. He had also set a new world record for a centre pairing with 45 matches alongside Brian O'Driscoll. In 2005 he toured New Zealand with the British Isles and scored two tries in seven appearances including the test against Argentina. Four years later he joined the next Lions' tour, to South Africa, as a replacement and played in three matches.
