Simon John Scott Clarke
Simon John Scott Clarke was born in Westcliff on 2 April 1938 and educated at Wellington College and Cambridge University where he won Blues in 1962 and 1963. He had also served in the Royal Marines and later played for Yokohama in Japan, Bath and, chiefly, Blackheath. He worked in sales and marketing. Between 1963 and 1965 he gained 13 caps at scrum-half for England. His ten appearances for the Barbarians included the game against New Zealand in 1964 and the captaincy against Penarth in 1965 and Swansea a year later.
